BIO
Rooted in hip-hop and contemporary dance forms, Reginald Webber Jr.’s strengths as an artist lay in the vastness of his training, the power, and grace in his movement, and his intense passion for the art of dance. His ability to combine an extensive dance vocabulary with broad experience on stage makes him an extraordinary performer.
Reginald began training at the Dance Studio of Fresno in hip-hop, ballet, jazz, modern, gymnastics, and tap. He quickly gained the role of choreographer for his high school musicals, Best of Broadway and the Edison Dance Showcase which earned him a prestigious acceptance into the professional dance program at California State University, Fullerton where he continued his study of ballet with Gladys Kares, modern with Debra Noble and Robin Johnson, and jazz with Macarena Gandarillas. While studying at CSU, he was invited to perform a piece choreographed by Robin Johnson that was featured at the Los Angeles Dance Invitational in 2006. He also worked as a dancer and character during the world-renowned Block Party Bash dance show and parade at Disney’s California Adventure.
In 2009, Reginald studied jazz and hip-hop under Sasha Mallory at Civic Dance Center in Bakersfield, CA where he was a featured dancer in The Nutcracker. In 2010, he advanced his training and teaching experience at Camarillo Academy of Performing Arts (CAPA) before he was cast a lead role in The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker with Debbie Allen’s Dance Academy in Los Angeles with actors Raven Simone and Jaleel White. His captivating performance earned him a scholarship at Debbie Allen’s Dance Academy where he had the honor of training under such miraculous talent as Karen McDonald, Terry Beeman, Eartha Robinson, Madame Giana Jigarhan, Kevin Harris, Chantel Heath, Louis Jones and Debbie Allen herself.
While residing in Los Angeles, Reginald has haven given the opportunity to train with artists such as Tina Landon, Kathryn McCormick, and Leslie Scott and was cast as a lead dancer in the musical, Nubiah!. He also joined LA Unbound, was invited to perform at Mix Match Dance Festival with Alaina Simms, and also performed multiple shows with artists like T’Quan, Cassidy Haley, and Dan Holguin at the main stage at West Hollywood Pride opening for global superstar Lil' Kim. Reginald also was chosen to participate in the Wall Breakers Web-series and was mentored by G Madison, Gina Starbuck, JJ Villar, Leslie Scott, Mykell Wilson, and Calvit Hodge.
In early 2013, Reginald’s experience landed him a full-time contract with the internationally touring production, Mystic India: The World Tour produced by the award-winning dance company, AATMA Performing Arts. While having performed over 250 shows with Mystic India: The World Tour, Reginald is able to combine the Bollywood and traditional Indian folk dance techniques he learned through choreographers Amit Shah and Kruti Shah with his expertise in western disciplines. He also served as a guest contemporary teacher at the AATMA Performing Arts dance school and performed with artists like Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani, superstars in the world of Bollywood music.
Reginald has most recently performed in the Royal Caribbean Cruiseline productions Hairspray and Flight on Symphony of the Seas. He is a member of AATMA Performing Arts, Mollet Contemporary Ballet, Primary X Entertainment, and Spark Movement Collective. Some of his most recent performances being the world premiere production of Douglas Tappin's: I Dream, an R&B opera about the life of Reverend Martin Luther King Jr, and the Mile Long Opera: a biography of 7 o'clock, with world-famous composer, David Lang. He resides in New York City, where he continues to thrive and seek opportunities in the world of dance and performing arts.
